How are payments processed through the EFD system?

EFD uses the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system for facilitating payments of state filing and system use fees.  The time in which a state may receive payment will vary as a result of ACH processing times and system delays designed to mitigate potential issues with payments.  In the event that an error with a  payment arises, filers will be notified of the error by phone as well as through a system generated email. Filers should contact the relevant state with any questions regarding the status of a filing.
